Social Commerce on TV: TV Social Shopping – Buy What You See With Friends

We’ve long thought that elephant in the social commerce corner was TV, and that next-generation TV will have social and commercial layers built-in. French Connection made an early attempt linking YouTube to stores with their ‘plinking’ (product linking) YouTique, but here’s a concept app (codenamed GOAB) from digital agency Syzygy that takes the idea a step further – turning your handset (tablet/mobile) into a socially and commercially-enabled TV remote (more here).

What do you think?  Could this kind of technology change the game for TV (social) shopping?
